FAST Conference - Wrap Up

FAST Conference - Wrap Up

Sunday February 25 saw us welcome over 120 Sports Trainers at our annual FAST Conference.

With over 120 attendees, and 8 trade displays this was another incredibly successful conference held at the beautiful Adelaide Oval. A huge thank you goes out to all our dedicated Sports Trainers who attended.

The morning presentation was titled "Busting Sports Trainer Myths" and was a panel run by Kate Beerworth, Dr Kevyn Hernandez and Carlie Altman. Topics Discussed included Helmets, Tape, Head Movement Sensor Devices, Ice, Blood Noses, Corked Muscles, Ultrasounds, TENS, Stretching, Shin Splints, Orthotics, Fitting Stations and Ankle Sprains.

We had a great array of Trade Displays this year and it was great to see our attendees enjoying themselves at the Trade Tables! A big thankyou to IDM Sports, Asthma Australia, Wakefield Sports Clinic, SPORTSMED•SA, DJO Global, Statpacks, Medipro, and Human Kinetics for being involved this year and presenting such great displays for our delegates.

The lectures and workshops were really well received and we are very lucky to have some incredibly knowledgeable presenters.  A huge thankyou to the below speakers for giving up their time to present:

-        Chris Cotton – Intensive Care Paramedic with SA Ambulance Service.

-        Dr Dan Wilson - Senior addiction medicine registrar

-        Kristian De Pasquale – Podiatrist

-        Matthew Belton – Physiotherapist

-        Sarah O’Donnell – Physiotherapist

-        Max Martin – Exercise Physiologist

-        Samuel Stewart – Physiotherapist

Finally, a big thank you to our sponsors and supporters, without you we would not be able to put on such a great conference for our trainers! Many thanks to all those who attended on Sunday and your ongoing support of SASMA. Without your support we can’t continue to run the quality of training and services we do, so thank you!
