SASMA has named the annual Sports Medicine Conference keynote address after a pioneer of Sports Medicine in South Australia, Dr. Henry Kneebone.

Dr Henry Kneebone was one of the enthusiastic member who developed the states first Sports Medicine Clinic which was owned and operated by the Australian Sports Medicine Federation (SA Branch) Inc, known as SMA-SA.

Henry then went on to serve as honorary Secretary for over 17 years.

Henry held the position as Superintendent of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and took great pride introducing many hospital interns to Sports Medicine.

Henry was the Medical Officers for 27 years for his beloved Port Adelaide Football Club in addition to being the State Football Doctor for many years. There is no doubt Henry held the vision and embraced the Power moving into the AFL
