Women's Health Program

Women's Health - Stronger for Longer

The project will create lasting change by supporting women to engage in lifelong active living, leading to healthier ageing and improved physical health outcomes, including reduced risk of chronic conditions such as osteoporosis, heart disease, and obesity. Women will gain mental health benefits, including increased confidence, resilience, and body positivity, whilst enjoying movement and the social rewards of sport.

This initiative will enhance physical, mental, and social wellbeing, reduce barriers to participation, and contribute to a stronger, healthier, and more connected community in South Australia.

Progress to date has focused on foundational activities, including desktop research, stakeholder mapping, and the identification and engagement of subject matter experts. These activities are building the evidence base and partnerships needed to inform program design and implementation.

The program is funded until March 2028.
