SASMA May Update

SASMA May Update

SASMA has had a busy five months of running courses in both metropolitan and regional South Australia. So far SASMA has ran 14 Level 1 Sports Trainers courses which has seen over 260 people in attendance with an additional 22 sports trainers completing their Level 2 Accreditation. In addition to the Sports Trainer courses, we have been able to run 44 short community courses to local councils, high schools and sporting clubs.

Our focus in the last few months has been on updating community sports with regards to the altered management protocols to Spinal Management and movement away from hard collars. By the end of May we will have delivered the Spinal Management course to approx. 80 Sports Trainers and officials.

SASMA has been lucky enough to run various workshops in a number of regional area's this year, including a three day road trip to the South East, a Level 1 Sports Trainer course in Roxby Downs which also included our first online Concussion Management workshop, a Intermediate Taping workshop in Murray Bridge and many more. With the development of online resources tools SASMA aims to be able to deliver more and more of these sessions to those often under resourced in regional communities.

The workshops don't stop there either, SASMA are heading on another road trip to the Riverland and Mallee next week. There are also a couple more Level 1 courses booked in for the year, another Level 2 course and in case you missed the last two there is another Spinal Management workshop coming up in June!

Providing sport and education for all sports will continue to be our focus for 2017 so if you are interested in having a particular workshop run in your region please contact us on 8234 6369 or email admin@sasma.com.au.
