Riverland and Mallee Road Trip

Riverland and Mallee Road Trip

After the recent success of the regional road trip to the South East, SASMA decided to hit the road again this time heading to the Riverland and Mallee.

On May 31, we headed to Glossop High school where we presented a Sports Nutrition workshop for 25 Nutrition and Sport and Recreation students. All of the students enjoyed the lesson and SASMA Sports Trainer, Alan Coulter will be heading back there next week to teach the students some Sports Taping techniques.

After Glossop High school it is was time to head to Renmark to present a Sideline Help and Sports Taping workshop. Over 40 people were in attendance which included sports trainers, team managers, coaches, parents and Renmark High school students. It was great to have so many people looking to gain more knowledge in the areas of injury management and sports taping.

The following day we headed to Lameroo to present the same workshop to those who lived in the Mallee. We only had 11 attendees at this workshop but because it was a small group everyone was able to ask plenty of questions and get involved.

We would like to thank the Renmark Football Club and the Lameroo Sporting Club for hosting the  evening workshops and also thanks to the Murraylands STARCLUB officer, Marc Maddaford for his assistance in getting the workshop in the Mallee up and running.

SASMA aims to provide workshops and education to all of South Australia so if you believe this is something that could benefit your area please contact us on (08) 8234 6369 or email admin@sasma.com.au.
