2020 Professional Development Scholarship Winners

SASMA is committed to providing members with meaningful professional development (PD) opportunities to develop the specialised skills and understandings required for a career in Allied Health. It is with this in mind that SASMA offer scholarship opportunities for students and recent graduates to attend PD sessions such as seminars, workshops or conferences that focus on developing their knowledge and skills further.

In 2020 SA Sports Medicine Association again offered Professional Development Scholarships for Students and Recent Graduates members. Each year there are up to 3 scholarships available to use for Professional Development sessions up to an amount of $500.00. Scholarship applicants needed to outline the benefits they will gain from their chosen professional development session, as well as highlighting how they have contributed to community sport in the past twelve months.

Congratulations to our two 2020 scholarship winners Lucinda Bunge and Oscar Wight.

Lucinda Bunge is in her final year of Physiotherapy at Uni SA and wants to complete the ASCA APA Level 1 Course for Strength and Conditioning.

Oscar Wight is studying Masters of Physiotherapy at Flinders University, and plans to use the scholarship to complete the APA Level 1 Sports Physiotherapy Course or attend the APA Annual Conference.

We thank all of our members who applied and wish our two award winners the best of luck with their professional development. We look forward to hearing from them with a review of the session they attended.

The Professional Development Scholarships will be open again for applications in 2021.
