Sports Podiatrist, Damir Metljak will be presenting at the 2017 FAST Conference. Damir is currently the Team Podiatrist for the Modbury Jets Soccer Club and Matrics Netball Club. Damir will be presenting a lecture on “Foot Care: Shoes that Fit”. An overview of his presentation can be seen below.
One of the more common, time consuming and expensive injury sites that trainers deal with is the foot and ankle.
Injuries that effect the entire lower half of the body can stem from injury and abnormality in the feet. Injuries affecting the shins, knees, lower leg, ankle and of course the feet can be very debilitating and can often have an adverse effect on a player’s performance.
Understanding how and why these injuries may occur is knowledge that is helpful to all trainers irrelevant to their sporting background.
